The GET READY, GET THRU website tells us that we need a torch and spare batteries in our survival kit.

I am going to design and make an emergency light that is portable for my survival kit.

Related imageThe website also says we need 3 litre per person, per day for at least three days. For three days my family will need 36 litres of water.

Memoir Story

Higher and higher we went, I was so excited! I gazed behind me, staring out of the gondola and back at the entrance. I felt a jolt. We had stopped. I walked out of the automatic doors and straight to the luge! "Hurry up mum and dad!," I yelled! I fitted a helmet and jumped in a  cart.I slowly started moving down the hill, picking up speed faster and faster. Corners, bumps and ducking under signs! I had to watch out for all these things to make sure I had smooth ride and didn't fall off!

I was having a great time! Until my parents passed me. "Woo Hoo! Come on lucy! Hurry up!", yelled mum!
I sped up! I was right on there tails. But it was to late. We had arrived at the chairlift. Slamming on the brakes, I congratulated my parents.
I knew I would get the next time...........

Punctuation practice writing

WALT: Write using correct punctuation. We also had to use 4 commas, 1 semicolon and an if, if, if, then sentence.

I woke up with a fright, the chill told me something was wrong.

A sudden scream caught my attention, making my heart drop. I rushed down the old, crooked, hardwood stairs in a stage on panic; meanwhile the couch was getting cold. I stepped into the bedroom to find my sister lying on the ground. I knew she has been ill, so I checked her pulse..........Nothing came through. If I had stayed with her, if I had listened to my instincts, if I had been a better sister, then maybe she would have survived.
As I thought back on it, I soon realised that it was my fault help didn't get to her sooner, it was my fault wasn't still alive.
I knew I had let her down...

Balloon car design and plan

Last week, room 13 got into groups of four and made balloon cars. In my group was Esther, Lillian and Lexi. The balloon cars can only be powered by one or more balloons. Our car went ok, but there were definitely some things we would've done differently next time.

Memoir story

Can kittens see windows?

Ralph (our new kitten) has been with us for about 5 weeks now. He had also been trapped in a room for 3 weeks. He was over it!

One windy day, on a Saturday afternoon, Ralph was as playful as a puppy. So I went in his room to give him some attention. He was lying on the edge of the bed  watching the leaves fly by one by one. I sat beside him stroking his head.

As more leaves flew past, the more interested he got. He crouched down low wiggling his back. He pounced across the bed heading straight for the leaf. What he didn't realise was that there was a layer of glass stopping him from getting the leaf. He bounced head first into the glass, then rebounding off the bed and onto the ground.

I couldn't stop laughing!!!

Memoir story

Up, Up, and away!

As my feet lifted off the ground, I felt my whole body relax. I spun around with the cold, fresh breeze blowing in my face. I felt free, right until the harness started to get tighter and tighter! "Oh no!", I thought to myself. "Wedgie!", I screamed! I tried to enjoy myself but wedgies aren't exactly the most comfortable things in the world!

Thankfully in  a matter of seconds, I was released back to the ground. As I arrived at the ground I took all the weight off the harness. The wedgie was gone!

I couldn't wait to go again!
